Zakopane Tours
Zakopane has many hiking trails and ski slopes. This makes Zakopane a tourism mecca for all seasons. The downtown bustles with outdoor wear shops, ski rental stores, and oscypek stands. Tourists come here in large numbers in summer and during the Christmas and New Year Season.
There are caves that one can go exploring in.
Panorama from mount Gubałówka. The finest panorama of the Tatra Mountains from the northern, Polish side of the range is from Mt Gubałówka or Głodówka pod Bukowiną. The Tatras, the highest mountains in Central Europe, with alpine landscapes, lie within Polish and Slovak national parks. The main attractions for tourists include the excursion to the Lake Morskie Oko (Eye of the Sea) and the ascent by cable car to the summit of Mount Kasprowy Wierch. In summer, hikers can follow the many designated trails. In winter, the mountains offer favourable conditions for skiing.
Later in the day, many of the tourists gather in Krupówki, the town's central pedestrianized area, which is lined with cafés, restaurants, exclusive souvenir shops and art galleries. Walking down Krupówki it is impossible to resist the market near the funicular railway station. On sale can be found leather kierpce (traditional highland moccasins), woollen highland pullovers, wooden ciupagi (highlanders' sticks with decorative axe-like handles), and also bryndza and oscypek (regional cheeses made from sheep's milk).
